Acupuncture Treatments & integrative medicine services

An initial appointment can take up to 75 minutes. Your acupuncturist will go over your health history and do a thorough intake of what is currently troubling you. Depending on the complexity of your case, your intake time can be shorter or longer. Once a diagnosis is made as to your Chinese medicine pattern(s) that need to be treated, needles will be placed in acupuncture points that best treat the pattern or combination of patterns that you have been diagnosed with. The needles should not be painful and many patients do not even feel them once they are in the body. The needles are left in for 10-30 minutes depending on the person and pattern.

An herbal consultation might be the right approach for you. Herbal Formulas can help treat the patterns that are causing you symptoms of insomnia, stress/anxiety, PMS, digestive dysfunction, colds/flu, headaches, menstrual cycle irregularities or painful menses and so much more. Your appointment will consist of reviewing your signs, symptoms and what ailment you want to work on resolving. Once a proper Chinese medicine diagnosis is made, herbal formulas will be prescribed. If the formula you need is common and we have it in stock you can purchase it and take it home that day. If we need to order it we can have it shipped directly to your home or to our office for you to pick up at your next visit. **Please note that the fee for herbal consult is for the diagnostic portion of your appointment only. Herbs are sold separately. 

A new patient consult for DUTCH or other lab testing is a 60-minute appt to gather health history and determine which DUTCH test or labs should be ordered. You can pick up the DUTCH test (additional test cost ranging from $274-$650) at the initial appointment to take home with you and get started. Lab testing can be done at home or at facility depending on the testing you need. 

If you've done the DUTCH test, once you've completed it, you ship it in yourself with prepaid postage. Once the test results are in, DUTCH labs will notify us and we will reach out to schedule your follow up to go over the test results and recommendations for treatment. 

If you did cortisol testing or blood draw for labs, we will notify you once all of your results have been reported back to our office and schedule you for either a 45 or 90 minute results appointment depending on the complexity of your labs and treatment recommendations.
