I've been seeing Amy for facial acupuncture since December of 2022 - and the changes in my skin are incredible. Less wrinkles and more of a youthful glow - my friends notice without even knowing what I've been doing! The sessions are not painful (as some would think) and it's VERY relaxing. I've also used other services (massage) and highly recommend. The environment is very pleasant and soothing - staff super helpful and friendly. It's a great find for self-care! - Sande
I have been to see Amy for almost two years now. Initially, it was for a health issue I was having. Once she helped me resolve that issue, I have chosen to see her monthly because of how relaxed and amazing I feel after. I also referred my mom to see her when she was having back pain so extreme, even the strongest of pain meds were not touching it. She couldn't even sit down on one side of her butt. The day after seeing Amy, she could sit on her butt and remarked how it was miraculous how good she felt so quickly. With that, she was actually able to start physical therapy...Surgery averted!!

I go to Nurturing Touch for acupuncture (w/Amy). It's a great place that is very personalized with their approach. It was my first acupuncture experience and Amy does a great job explaining the process and is attentive to how my body is feeling. They are also very flexible about scheduling and the staff is great! I always feel listened to, my treatments are always catered to how I'm feeling that day, and I've seen the positive changes in my health. I was diagnosed with CKD, ovarian cysts, and have severe CPTSD/anxiety/depression. To say I was willing to try anything besides being stuck on medications forever is an understatement. Exploring acupuncture was always a curiosity of mine but I have never known anyone personally to have any treatments but, upon finding Nurturing Touch and reading all the amazing reviews, I decided to make the leap into Chinese Medicine. After a thorough and, honestly, emotional intake, I was sooo ready and excited for the needles to be placed. I barely felt a thing and Amy was very communicative if I needed a needle slightly adjusted. Once my session was over and I was able to sit and take it all in, I could literally feel the difference. We placed needles for the chronic pain caused by my CKD and menses cycles but the mental clarity was most notable. It felt like someone opened up the Task Manager in my mind and hit "Ctrl, alt, delete" and it was one of the most brilliant experiences. "This must be what normal feels like!!" is all I could tell myself through literal tears. I now come at least twice a month and will forever be grateful for this treatment and the plethora of other services Nurturing Touch provides. - Andrea

Dr. Amy Abelar is fantastic, she has utilized her skills with acupuncture to bring relief to my neck that was injured in a car accident. Dr. Amy is absolutely wonderful! I came to her for migraines and in hopes of getting off my migraine medication. My chronic migraines (migraine every day) started 5 years ago in nursing school and I was started on Nortriptyline as a preventative medicine. Throughout the years, I’d still get breakthrough migraines and didn’t feel like the medication was helping so my dose kept increasing. I got approved for Botox for migraines - didn’t help at all. While western medicine has a time and place, I very much value Chinese medicine and finding the root cause. Amy helped me taper down my migraine medicine and eventually get off it completely! I went to her for weekly acupuncture sessions and they were magical. We also did DUTCH testing which helped us see what my hormone levels were doing throughout different stages of my menstrual cycle. I thought I was out of luck with migraine treatment until Amy’s help. Now, I’m almost 1 year migraine medicine free with maybe 1 a month around my cycle. THANK YOU AMY! - Kassidy

I was hesitant to try acupuncture but after years and years of sports my body was a mess. I tried it initially for my perpetually strained hip flexor and the relief was instant. Since that worked, I have used it for tennis elbow, sprained ankles, neck pain, shoulder pain, and general relaxation, all to great success. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Absolutely great place to go to find relief and relaxation. I've been going here since 2018 and highly recommend. The staff is always kind and helpful and will work with you. Amy is amazing at doing acupuncture, and it was super helpful when dealing with anxiety issues I was having, and also with U.C symptoms. Rebecca is amazing and a true rockstar, words can't describe the help and relief I was able to get from constant muscle cramping in my shoulders and back, and even had other useful tips. I was considering surgery for the chronic pain in my vertebrae, arthritis has deteriorated the bone causing numbness in my fingers. I've been seeing Amy for massage therapy for years and I can say, hands down, she is the best massage I've ever had. So, when she started to offer acupuncture, I thought I would give it a try. I have seen a few acupuncturists in the past, and sadly never felt much in the way of results. But hey, I had some issues and they needed to get worked out, so I am happy to try again. I had some arm pain that had been occurring for months and after three acupuncture sessions with Amy, my arm felt SO much better. And now that I think about it, that pain never came back! Another time, I was so so sick, could barely stand up or eat, and I booked a session with Amy. I'm telling you, that girl works some magic. I have always been terrified of needles, to the point I would faint. But when I injured my hand and was unable to work I knew I had to try everything. Nurturing touch was exactly as the name states, I was shocked at how comfortable I was with acupuncture and how relaxing the experience felt. I noticed a difference in my injury immediately and after a few months of regular acupuncture I returned to work and I still feel amazing! Both my husband and I have never had acupuncture before. Then we started gave it a shot here with Amy and it has made such an improvement in our comfort and daily life. My husband has an intense physical job this has made his pain much more manageable and made a big improvement with our moods. My husband was nervous about having needles Stuck in him, but they are very thin and not noticeable. Amy is so professional and accommodating with our needs.
